Madison.com reports on new obesity prevalence maps created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Self-reported obesity rates in Wisconsin increased very slightly from 2012 to 2013, but mostly Wisconsin obesity rates remain steadily in the 25-30% range. Twenty-two other states share the 25-30% obesity rate range. The CDC obesity prevalence maps also depict obesity rates across U.S. racial and ethnic groups.
The CDC did indicate that self-reporting levels are often lower than weights taken by health professionals.
