Lexa Dundore is the new Americorps VISTA serving as a Community Food Systems Educator for Dane County UW-Extension. She will serve in this capacity-building position for one year. Lexa’s work plan will include a variety of community food system related projects including assisting with facilitating the Dane County Food Coalition.
Lexa has worked with a variety of food access and production entities throughout Dane County. Her most recent position was as a Food Security Specialist with Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin (CAC), coordinating the FoodShare Program at Dane County Farmers’ Market. Lexa also has experience working on a food processing team out of the FEED Kitchen, doing small-scale organic farm and garden work, and maintains an EBT access at farmers’ markets blog at farmfreshforall.com. She brings to UW Extension a passion for systems analysis, food justice, and social equity. Lexa graduated from UW-Madison with bachelors degrees in Legal Studies and Sociology, as well as a certificate in Criminal Justice.
